Tri-Polish Challenge -APRIL!

Today is the last day of this months Tri-Polish Challenge! Can I hear an "Awwww" ha!

I decided to do my most difficult manicure yet, using my dotting tools I hauled a little while ago. This consists of the turquoise (OPI Can't Find My Czechbook) base with pink (OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips) and orange (Barry M Web Effects Orange) flowers. The "vine" connecting them was done in Revlon ColourStay Stiletto.

This manicure took me maybe 30 minutes to get it how I wanted it, but I am so pleased!

On my other hand (which I didn't photograph) I just did the "vine" with pink buds, as I knew I would muck up if I tried to do the flowers on that hand!

That's it for this post - and the Tri-Polish Challenge for this month.
I'll be posting again tomorrow, but come back next month for May's Tri-Polish Challenge!

P.S I know the pictures aren't great, the focus on my camera isn't good.

Tri-Polish Challenge - APRIL!

Today, Tuesday, I'm showing maybe my least favourite manicure in the history of this week.

This is for day 3 of the April Tri-Polish Challenge and I just feel I could have done something a lot more interesting. Admittedly I have been quite ill the past week and so I kinda didn't care what my nails looked like.
I used the same three nail polishes from the other posts this month, with Revlon ColourStay Stiletto and Barry M Matt White for the edgings. I don't know I just really don't like this one...
That's all for this post! I made a special post yesterday regarding the new babies in my house (!) so go and check that out if you like :)

Babies!!!!

So this is a different post.
It's not about nails or beauty.
It's about 5 gorgeous little ones that have made their way into my house!
For the first time in my life I've been allowed pets, and I chose to have fish!
These are the first fish I got, and they're Black Neon Tetras!
There's Billy, and Zazzles, and Cooper, and Tara and Minnie, though I can't really tell them apart... Ooops...

Anyway, this is my weird post of the week, I shall be back tomorrow with more nail posts!

Dinner Nails

I went out to dinner this past week with my family, and honestly the nails I did for that are my favourite of the week. So in this Friday post I thought I'd show you them...

I started off with ONE COAT (two on some fingers) of Essie Mezmerised and then attempted to make a gradient with OPI OY-Another Polish Joke!

I was very naughty and didn't use a base coat, in my defence I was on time constraints, but my topcoat was Rimmel London Pro Super Wear which actually dries quite quickly!

Just a short post for you today, I hope you're enjoying my Tri-Polish Challenge posts and if you're in the UK I hope you're enjoying this sunshine!

 See you soon,
 Lou xoxo

Tri-Polish Challenge - APRIL!

This is the second day of this months challenge, and I'm not completely in love with today's nails...
I only used OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips and OPI Can't Find My Czechbook, along with Revlon ColourStay in Stiletto.
I actually took this off straight after I took the pictures because... well I'm going out to dinner and it wouldn't match my outfit at all. Luckily I'd only done one hand!

Just to show my newbie mess-ups:
It looks awful there! haha!

I'm actually using my brand new camera for the first time in these pictures, and it's a lot better quality than my iPod!

See you next time,
Lou xoxo

Tri-Polish Challenge - APRIL!

So this is my first time becoming involved in this challenge, and honestly I found it super super hard to find a turquoise colour in my collection!

The colours for this challenge were: pink, turquoise and orange, so I chose OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips, OPI Can't Find My Czechbook and Barry M Web Effects in Orange. My Web Effects doesn't actually work, so it's just a plain orange.

As this is my first time, I thought I'd do something simple to start off so here we go....

Yep that's literally it. A different colour on each nail. I'm that boring!

Don't worry though, for the second day (Thursday) I will be doing something ~slightly~ more interesting!

See you soon!
Lou xoxo

PS. Sorry it's so late, I've been at the doctors and busy all day!

OPI Euro Centrale Collection

A review I promised and a review you shall get!

Firstly, the mini’s from the Euro Centrale collection. Three of these are light and pastel and the other a shimmer.

Can’t Find My Czechbook is a gorgeous pale blue. It’s darker than Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream in the bottle and is very true to colour on the nails. I love this blue and it almost looks slightly teal on my nails!
Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! is a peachy bright pink. Almost a salmon colour. This colour was quite sheer on first coat but was fine after a second coat. It looks quite bright on my nails and it’ll be a good spring/summer shade, even without a base coat or coat of white.
You’re Such A BudaPest is a pastel purple/lilac colour. The polish is extremely thick and leaked all around the lid, but not into the box. I hope this is just my bottle, and not everyone’s! It is a lovely colour on my nails, but I don’t think I’ll use it again until I get some nail polish thinner and make it more usable. In picture it looks almost blue and it is definitely blue-toned.

OY-Another Polish Joke is completely different to what I thought it would be! On the Lena White website it looked like a bright yellow and I was pleased because I don’t have any yellows. It turned out to be a beautiful gold shimmer/glitter in a clear base. This could be worn alone on the nails and look awesome when catching light but also looks good over créme finish polish. The red polish used is Max Factor Nailfinity in Red Passion.

Polka.com. This colour is gorgeous in the bottle and less so on the nails. You really have to uck out the chunks of glitter or spread the coats quite thick. I think this will be a lovely glitter polish over purple and blue nails and does look good over the red colour.  I have a feeling that most of the hexagonal glitter will stick to the sides of the bottle as I use it up, but there you go. The bigger hexagonal glitter is in turquoise, pink and purple and purple/dark blue microglitter.

That’s it for this review of OPI’s Euro Centrale collection. My favourites are Can’t Find My Czechbook and OY-Another Polish Joke! I also really like Polka.com.

See you next time!

Nail Haul!

So today I received my 3rd package in the mail, all of them nail related!

On Saturday I received packages from MoYou and InkReplacement, and today (Monday) from Lena White.

From MoYou I bought some nail gems, in lots of different shapes. I bought this from Amazon and it arrived within 72 hours, which is really good seeing as it is from a company that sells through Amazon. The shapes include stars, crescent moons, hearts, flowers, small and big circles, ovals, diamonds, squares and bow shaped. There are also crystals that are not suitable for nails as they are not flat-bottomed.

Secondly from InkReplacement I bought my first set of dotting tools. In the past I’ve used hairgrips, but I thought it was time to get some dotting tools as I’ve become more interested in nail art and started this blog. These were also bought through Amazon, and came within 72 hours.

Finally I bought some OPI nail polish from the registered seller in the UK, Lena White. I bought the Euro Centrale Collection Mini’s which included Can’t Find My Czechbook (the reason I bought the set), Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! You’re Such A BudaPest and OY-Another Polish Joke! So far the consistency of the pigmentation and formula has been good, though “You’re Such A BudaPust” is extremely thick and has leaked but that’s probably just my bottle!

Finally I bought my first ever full-size OPI nail polish in Polka.com! This is the glitter from the Euro Centrale collection and OMG IT IS SO GORGEOUS! I am yet to try it on my nails, but in the bottle it just looks so lush!

On Wednesday I will post reviews of the polish I received today to let you know how I really feel about them!

Galaxy Nail Design

So today is Friday and I’ve decided that every Friday I will show you guys what I’m wearing on my nails!
Generally I wear the same colour on my nails for a week, with my accent nails (ring fingers) changing every day, or every few days. This week my main nail colour has been Essie Mezmerised. I adore this blue colour, and it certainly goes on creamy. I did find I had to do two coats to get full coverage, but if I was in a rush I could get away with just one. I then added a glitter topcoat – Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch and small white “stars” in Barry M Matte White.

Natural Light (Windowsill)

This week I was inspired by all the galaxy prints to use on my ring fingers. I used a sponge I got in a kids painting kit to lightly dab on Essie Mezmerised, Avon Arabian Glow Teal Infusion, No7 Stay Perfect Totally Teal, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Rimmel London Metal Rush Royal Blue.
Natural Light (Windowsill)
My camera doesn't enjoy picking up glitter colours, so sorry for the blurriness!

All Products I Used
o   Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hard as Wraps base coat (1 coat)
o   Essie Mezmerised (2 coats and dabbing)
o   Avon Arabian Glow Teal Infusion, No7 Stay Perfect Totally Teal, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Rimmel London Metal Rush Royal Blue (dabbed on)
o   Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch (3 coats)
o   Barry M Matte White (small “stars” with brush)
o   Rimmel London Pro Super Wear topcoat (1 coat)

That’s it for this Friday Nail Post, see you next time!
